Disk Set Creation Instructions
The Private Practice Manager software is designed to be upgraded using our Internet Upgrader.
If you want to create the disks manually, please follow the instructions below.
Each update is distributed as one or more Zip file(s) (A Zip file is a file with a .zip extension)
These are compressed copies of the installation disks for the product. At present Private Practice Manager comes on 11 disks. Therefore
you will have to download 11 files.
Before these 11 files can be installed, the actual disks have to be created.
To do this you must follow these instructions for each file in the file set:
- Download the file(s) to a directory on your hard disk.
(This is normally done by double-clicking on the item you wish to download) For this example we assume that the directory is C:\TEMP
- Insert a blank 1.44 Mb Floppy into your floppy drive - For this example we assume A: is your floppy drive.
- Select Run from the Windows '95 or Windows '98 Start menu.
- Enter the following in the dialog box that is displayed PKUNZIP C:\TEMP\Filename A: (where Filename is the name of the file/disk you have downloaded) and select the OK button
Please note that PKUNZIP is not supplied by us. If you don't have a copy you can download one from PKWare Inc. A Windows '95 and Windows '98 version of PKUNZIP is also available at the above site. Read the help after downloading and installing the programs, for instructions on using them because the above instructions apply only to the DOS version.
Once you have extracted all the disks in the disk set, insert the first disk into the drive and using Run on the Windows '95 or Windows '98 Start Menu, enter :
- A:\SETUP.EXE and select the OK Button.
This will start the installation procedure. Follow The Instructions.
